Trader Joe's has a diverse selection of cheeses that cater to a variety of tastes. Some of the best Trader Joe's cheeses and ones that I include in my Charcuterie boxes are:
Unexpected Cheddar: This cheese is often described as a cross between cheddar and parmesan, with a tangy flavor and crumbly texture (I usually cut this in squares since it is crumbly). It's great for snacking or melting over dishes. I also love The New Zealand Sharp Cheddar made from grass fed cow's milk. It's super creamy and slices nicely.
Triple Cream Brie: Creamy and decadent, this brie is perfect for spreading on crackers or pairing with fruit, honey and nuts. For a slightly different and more upscale Brie I sometimes use the Goat's Milk Brie. It has a more tangy taste and firmer texture.
Manchego or Iberico: This is the third cheese I offer on my medium charcuterie boards/boxes. It's a firmer Spanish tapas cheese that pairs perfectly with red wine.
Goat Cheese: There are three different varieties of the Chevre (goat in French) that I use. I pair the plain creamy yet tangy Chevre with berries or dried cranberries or pomegranate. You can also get this with fine herbs. A really popular variety is the Blueberry Vanilla Chevre Goat Cheese Log. There's a pop of sweetness that mellows out the tang.
More of my favorite cheeses include the decadent White Stilton Cheese with Apricots, Port Salut Semi-Soft Cheese, Asiago Cheese with Rosemary and Olive Oil, and Creamy Toscano Cheese Soaked in Syrah. All of these will go really well on any Charcuterie board and are a lovely treat for happy hour on any special occasion. When ordering your Charcuterie box or board let me know if you have a favorite cheese! Enjoy!
